Our History

Originally from South Wales, I moved to Portsmouth in 1979 and graduated from Portsmouth Polytechnic in 1982 with a degree in Economics. I began my career with a respected provincial firm of accountants, where I completed my accountancy training over three years. 

I then joined one of the Big 5 accountancy practices, gaining invaluable experience working with small businesses and spending time seconded within industry.

In 1989, I took the leap into self-employment, providing services to local firms of accountants before forming a partnership with Richard Curtis in 1994.

Outside of work, I am a keen sports enthusiast and can usually be found on the golf course most weekends. I am also a lifelong Swansea City supporter and enjoy keeping up with the football season.

Community involvement is important to me, and I am proud to serve as Treasurer of the Southsea Rotary Club.

I joined the Practice in 2007 and began my studies for the Association of Accounting Technicians Diploma. After successfully achieving this qualification, I continued to develop my skills and experience within the firm and have since qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant.

Over the years, I have gained a wide range of experience working with local businesses and individuals, supporting them with their accounting and financial needs. I take great pride in building strong client relationships and providing a personal, approachable service that helps clients feel confident and well-supported.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors walking our Cocker Spaniel, who often keeps me company in the office. Family time is very important to me, and I make the most of every opportunity to spend quality time together.

Benji is our beloved office Cocker Spaniel and the unofficial morale officer of the team. He loves greeting clients, keeping everyone company, and making sure there’s always a wagging tail nearby. 

When he’s not supervising the office, you’ll find him enjoying walks, chasing tennis balls, or sneaking in a well-deserved nap. Benji’s friendly nature and happy presence make him a favourite with both staff and visitors alike.
